I am a people pleaser and when I was burning out, it was a big issue.

When working with my clients who are people pleaser’s I try to tackle the issue from 2 angles.

Firstly I try to get them to understand that it is impossible to satisfy everybody always. You are not pizza! The likelihood of making everybody happy all the time is zero. Just think about it, are you always happy with everybody? Probably not. There are so many people in the world and so many different opinions and ways to do things, you are bound to come across folks who disagree with how you do things. Or what you consider good or the right way to do something.

Secondly, I have my clients rate their relationships and connections on how important it is to satisfy them. If we can narrow down a handful of people worth going the extra mile for, that can already help reduce stress of trying to please everybody in the world.

Lastly, the first and most important person to satisfy is you. You have to live with yourself all the time.
